The most famous Mac lipstick...

Since, apparently, this is Kylie Jenner's favourite "go to" lipstick, I obviously needed it in my collection. My friend actually convinced me to get it because she loves it and she always makes great lipstick choices and it's true! I love it, for some reason I thought it would be too brown for me but it's actually a really pretty nude shade. It definitely has more of a peachy undertone rather than a pink one, which isn't as flattering on teeth whiteness but it definitely suits more skin tones. I think this lipstick would actually look amazing on most people. It's just one of those really universal shades that everyone needs in their collection! Join the hype!

A Bashful Blush...

I have a very love/hate relationship with blush, I always have. I'm definitely more of a bronzer over blush girl but with this sharp cold weather snap I'm enjoying more of a naturally cold flush look. Now, I'm not talking a red, patchy, snotty colour, I'm talking a slightly pink tan.
Introducing Clinique's Bashful Blush. I had this used on me by the Clinique make up artist and fell in love. It's perfect for girls like me, who need a little less tan, a little more blush. There's a very subtle sliver shimmer running through it, which catches the winter sun so perfectly.

Long time, no see...

Hello Stranger...

So, as I'm sure you all can tell, I have been MIA for almost a year now. I needed a break and the last 6+ months have been very busy for me and unfortunately that left no time for blogging. I'm hoping to be back on top with blogging. I really enjoy it and I obviously love make up so I'm hoping to get back on top with it, slowly but surely.
Wish me luck!

What's On My Face #6

Face - I have been keeping it simple with my base recently. I have a few products that I've been loving and I've been sticking to those for a really flawless effortless finish. I have been using the Clinique Anti-blemish foundation religiously ever since I first bought it. It's a medium coverage foundation which is buildable but still remains light. Then on top of that, on the cheeks, I've been using Clinique's Blush in the shade Bashful Blush. It's a really stunning shade, inbetween blush and a bronzer. It just looks really effortless and it's really flattering on my complexion.

Brows - I've gone back to an old love for my brows. The HD brows kit in Foxy has the perfect ashy shade in for my brows and using an angle brush to get the perfect arch makes my brows look incredible. Over the top of that I use the Maybelline Brow Drama in Medium to keep them in place and add some needed warmth back into them.

Eyes - I've also been keeping it fairly simple on my lids too, using one shade all over the lid for that worn in edgy smokey eye. I owned the Mac Pro longwear shadow in Make Your Mark for ages and never used it until a few months ago and ever since then I have not been able to get enough of it. It's a really deep matte brown shade with a hint of purple running through it. It makes brown eyes really stand out and look sexy/smouldering. Then I go for the extra smokey factor with liner in the water liner and a catwing liner on top. Then lashings of mascara with the new Benefit Roller Lash for extra wow and curl.

Lips - Finally, still keeping it simple I applied a simple gloss in a browny pink shade, keeping it muted to keep the eyes doing the talking. This is the Bourjois gloss in Brun Rose. It's really pretty but without being too over powering.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara - Review...

Hollllaaa, I'm back. I've had some well deserved time off and now I'm refreshed and determined to get back on it. I've been off blogging for a couple months and a lot have changed over that time, including my eye lashes. I always had the view that my eye lashes were really short and falsies were my only option but I sacked off applying them daily and have gotten back into mascaras. It's all about getting the right mascara to really give the most to your lashes. So with all that in mind I thought I'd pick up the new Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. My main need in a mascara is length so I thought this would be perfect.
Overall, I do really like this mascara, it really gives me length and the right amount of volume too. The brush is perfect to get into those roots but without poking your eyes out. It works for both top and bottom lashes which makes it great for traveling and keeping those products down. I probably will be buying this mascara again, I do really like it. I massively prefer it over the "They're Real" mascara but I still suffer the same sort of issues as "They're Real" and that's that it smudge on my eye lids, which is annoying. However I battle this issue by just doing a coat of water proof mascara over the top which stops it from smudging. It claims that you don't need to curl your lashes when you use this, which I wouldn't agree with but I do think it holds a curl once you have curled your lashes. For the price tag, I do think there are better drugstore alternatives out there but so far, as a mascara reuser, I'm happy with this. It fulfills my mascara needs.

Have you tried this mascara? I'd love to hear your opinion too.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque in Appechissant 01 - Review...

I am absolutely in love with the Maybelline Coloursensational Elixirs so when Bourjois bought these out I was desperate to try them out. I purchased the shade Appechissant 01, it's the perfect mix of peach and pink so right up my alley. I had high hopes for these but to be honest I'm not massively keen. The pigmentation is lovely and they feel really light on the lips which is ideal but they have more issues than benefits. It applies rather patchy so I have to rub it in for an even coverage. I can deal with that but it just doesn't last at all, I wouldn't even say it lasts on the lips for an hour so it's pretty pointless. I was expecting better from this but unfortunately I will not be purchasing anymore of these. The matte version is much better so I will be sticking to them in future.

The Endless Mac Love Affair...

Deelight Cremesheen Glass - £17.50
Smoked Purple Lipstick - £15.50
Craving Lipstick - £15.50

So it's that time again where I make a Mac order. I've been putting it off for a while (my self control has been brill) but I finally caved. I only made a small order to feed my Mac addiction for a while longer. All lip products not that I need anymore, but I just couldn't help myself.
I have been eyeing up the lipstick in Smoked Purple ever since Barbara made this video and this tutorial. It just looks amazing on her and I needed it. It's similar to Cyber but it's a matte formula which I actually prefer. Then I also picked up Craving lipstick which is a really pretty pink shade. It's lovely just applied lightly and patted into the lips or layered up for a brighter bolder lip. The finally I picked up the Cremesheen glass in Deelight which doesn't look like much in the bottle but on it's really pretty. It's one of those shades that looks pretty on so many different skin tones.

Reviews will be heading your way in the next couple of weeks for these products so keep your peepers open for that. Sorry I've been MIA for the last few weeks, there's been a lot going on in my world and unfortunately this has suffered because of this but I'm trying to get back into the routine of daily blogging so that should be fun!

INSTA OOTN #2

Dress - Missguided
Leather Jacket - George at Asda

I love experimenting with outfits, especially for a night out. There's nothing worse than walking into a club and seeing a tonne of girls wearing the same outfit as you but there are only a limited number of shops for you all to shop in so sooner or later you're going to bump into someone wearing the same. So, how I think about it is that it's the way you wear it, the different possibilities of how you can throw it all together. I bought this slightly boring t shirt dress was a bargain from Missguided, I loved the way it fitted and the dipped hem was really flattering and slightly sexy. So I also threw on some over knee socks for a slightly sexy winter edge and these gorgeous heels from New Look, that I'm in love with. I also put on a leather jacket as well because sometimes you can feel quite self conscious with your arms and legs on show and it also pulls in another edge. This is outfit consists of really simple pieces but all tied in together with basic colours and features.

Clinique 3 Step Skincare Routine Introduction Kit - Review ...

For Christmas my lovely Mum gifted me with the chance to go and see the skin experts at Clinique and a voucher to treat myself with. She came too and we both had a little pamper session together which was really lovely. I had been suffering with problematic skin, nothing serious but it was just never smooth and spot free so I wanted to talk to someone who knew what they were actually talking about. I spoke to her about my skin type in detail and my issues which she put through their database which offered a few solutions. We decided together that I probably wasn't removing my make up thoroughly enough which was leaving a build up of dead skin cells which was leaving my skin lumpy. She suggested that I try this 3 step skin care system, which differs from person to person depending what their skin type is. I was put the the fourth category which is for oily skined gals. To cut to the chase, I love this and I can't imagine my life without it right now. You start with an oil controling soap, which removes most make up and acts as a cleanser. Then step 2 is more of a toner, which acts as a double cleanser and gets rid of any other nasties that are left on your skin. Then the final step is the moisturiser which is absorbed really quickly and comfortably, especially considering I have oily skin. Overall, my skin is a lot softer and smoother, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and cleansed ready for a day ahead or after a long day. If you're suffering with skin problems and can't seem to get things right then I would recommend you try this 3 step system out. It makes skincare really easy and then you can add any other products to it that you like or want to try. You start with a basic skincare base that works and then you can add what else you want.

Step 1: Cleanse
Step 2: Exfoliate
Step 3: Moisturise.

Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Foundation - Review ...

Now, I'm a big fan of Clinique as brand in general, I haven't really been disappointed with any of their products and I'm glad that my opinion have still not been changed.
I recently was gifted from my mum a skin evaluation from them because my skin hasn't been great for a while and I've tried everything. I went not feeling so confident about it but I was pleasantly surprised, but I'll talk about that another time. However, she used this foundation on me and I just fell in love. I normally stick to my Nars Sheer Glow but this one is brilliant. It's their Anti Blemish Solutions foundation. When she said she was going to use it on me, I was expecting the worst. I was expecting it to be a heavy full coverage foundation but it really wasn't. It feels very light on the skin but gives you the coverage that you need, it's very buildable for those areas you need extra coverage.
It claims to have skin clearing benefits, which personally I haven't experienced but I do think it has stopped anymore from coming through. They have 17 shades in this range which I think is really great for girls that struggle with either end of the scale. This foundation is designed for specifically oily and spot prone skin, so unless you suffer with that I'd probably avoid. I've actually been picking this over my Nars Sheer Glow recently so I must love it.

DiorShow Fusion Mono Shadow in Hypnotique - Review ...

It's no secret that I love this product in Meteore so I thought it was about time I splashed out on a new one. They don't have a huge range of shade and they're not one of their best sellers but I love them, so easy and gorgeous. This shade is stunning, the photo doesn't do it justice but it's a purple shade with all sorts of different shades of glitter in, really unusual and unlike anything in my collection. You can apply this with a brush or a finger tip and build the colour up to whatever finish you desire. The whole product in general feels luxurious and it's a lovely product to treat yourself too. They can also be applied over other shadows to create a different finish/look, which makes them different to any other cream products I've tried.

My Mac Lipstick Collection...

Over the last year I've really been loving Mac lipsticks, I know that there are other brands in the world but they're great in every single way...
I love reading and seeing videos about Mac collections so I thought I'd share mine.

Creme Cup - This is such a popular shade among mac lovers, but unfortunately this does not suit me. It's a really pretty pale pink nude shade but it's too pale for me, I've only ever tried it on and every time I've applied it, I've just not liked it and taken it off straight away. Sorry to start on a negative but this looks gorgeous on paler girls.

Patisserie - This is my perfect nude shade, it's more of a peachy nude shade, my lips but better colour. It's the shade I go for when I've done a heavy smokey eye and need something pretty and subtle. I know a lot of people also love this so definitely needed in any Mac collection.

Peach Blossom - This is such a lovely summer nude, Patisserie would be my winter nude and Peach Blossom my summer. It's much mess brown than Patisserie and as the name suggests, a very peach toned nude.

Coral Bliss - This is exactly as the name describes. It's applies quite sheer so just gives a hint of coral. It's really pretty with a lip gloss over the top. It was brought out in the Cremesheen and Pearl collection along with Patisserie, all of the shades from this collection are really pretty.

Up The Amp - This is quite an unusual shade and one I'm not normally drawn to but this is quite wearable. It's a pink with a cold purple undertone. At first I thought it made me look like I had dead lips but I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Flat Out Fabulous - This is a matte bright pink with blue undertones. It makes teeth look whiter and really stands out. This is perfect, if you've gone for a more masculine look but want a girly twist.

All Fired Up - I feel like this is the red version of Flat Out Fabulous. It's also matte but it's a muted red orange shade. If you don't want to go for a bright, in your face, red then go for this. I think would look amazing on pale girls who are intimidated by a brighter red.

Rebel - This is one of the first shades I picked up I think. It's different to anything I'd ever seen before. It's a pinky plum shade, it's great because you can layer it up for an intense plum shade or just apply a thin layer with a balm over the top for a sheer wash of pink colour.

Mac R.E.D - This is what started off my Mac lipstick love. I thought that it's a really classic shade and the lady in Mac matched me to this red over the others and I actually agree with her. It's not a super popular shade like the other reds that they do and I don't know why to be honest because it's a beaut.

Russian Red - This is just a classic red shade, that I'm pretty sure every Mac lover owns. It's a matte finish which differs it from R.E.D, and it's slightly deeper.

Diva - This is definitely my most used shade that I own, I just love it. It's a deep red, almost plum but it does not budge. It's such a striking matte lipstick that does not end up all over your face or dry your lips out at all. I always feel like a Diva when I have this on.

Cyber - This is the most striking colour I've ever seen, it looks almost black but it's a really deep dark purple. If you want to go for a look that no one else will be rocking this go for this beauty. I think you've got to have some balls to wear this but it looks stunning. It can end up washing you out a little bit but I just apply slightly more bronzer to combat that. Also, a lip liner is a must have for this.

I'd love to hear what shades you love and think I need!

Plum Pals...

Sometimes you need a luxurious lip combination with screams attitude and makes you feel powerful. This is definitely that combo for me, it's a fairly recent discovery and I'm in love. Before this, I'd only ever tried cheapo lip liners but this one blew me a way. As I've gotten older I've realised that a lip liner is essential. It just makes lipstick application easier and better overall, in terms of longevity and definition it's perfect. This is a Mac lip liner in Currant and it's fab, you need this if you're a lipstick junkie like me and I couldn't imagine my life without it anymore (haha, definition of lipstick junkie). On top of that the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick in Prune Virgin is incredible. It's just a really striking gorgeous pair and I always get a tonne of compliments on it, and due to the matteness you don't need to worry about it going anywhere. An expensive but stunning pair.

What I Learnt About Make Up In 2014 ...

Take it easy with the bronzer - Bronzer should give you a subtle sunkissed look, not an orange mask! Looking at past photos makes me cringe so back, I used to apply so much bronzer that I looked muddy and orange but thought it looked good! Bronzer should be mostly applied on the places where the sun would naturally catch you for a tanned look. Obviously there are other ways of applying bronzer like contouring and that.

Less is more - With make up genral, less is more. Subtle application looks a thousand times better than caking it on. I think when you're putting your make up on it's easy to over apply. If you're guilty of this, like me, go into your bathroom, turn on the light (which is normally like daylight and a lot brighter) and see how it looks, if you're still happy with it, perfect.

Nude eye liner is your friend - I am forever tired, which means my eyes are forever bloodshot. A brilliant way to counteract tiredness and small eyes is nude eye liner. I use to think nude liner was just for mature women but I can't get enough of it now.

Change it up - The best thing about make up is changing your look up and experimenting. Why keep the same look forever? If your attitude changes then why shouldn't your make up? This year I've really been enjoying experimenting and trying out new things, even if I don't think it'll suit me. You never know until you try it out. I've been getting into purples because they are great on brown eyes.

You don't need full coverage all the time - If my skin is good then why do I need a full coverage foundation. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation has definitely proven this to me. It's a much more natural finish and makes skin look healthy but perfected.
