Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Foundation - Review ...

Now, I'm a big fan of Clinique as brand in general, I haven't really been disappointed with any of their products and I'm glad that my opinion have still not been changed.
I recently was gifted from my mum a skin evaluation from them because my skin hasn't been great for a while and I've tried everything. I went not feeling so confident about it but I was pleasantly surprised, but I'll talk about that another time. However, she used this foundation on me and I just fell in love. I normally stick to my Nars Sheer Glow but this one is brilliant. It's their Anti Blemish Solutions foundation. When she said she was going to use it on me, I was expecting the worst. I was expecting it to be a heavy full coverage foundation but it really wasn't. It feels very light on the skin but gives you the coverage that you need, it's very buildable for those areas you need extra coverage.
It claims to have skin clearing benefits, which personally I haven't experienced but I do think it has stopped anymore from coming through. They have 17 shades in this range which I think is really great for girls that struggle with either end of the scale. This foundation is designed for specifically oily and spot prone skin, so unless you suffer with that I'd probably avoid. I've actually been picking this over my Nars Sheer Glow recently so I must love it.

DiorShow Fusion Mono Shadow in Hypnotique - Review ...

It's no secret that I love this product in Meteore so I thought it was about time I splashed out on a new one. They don't have a huge range of shade and they're not one of their best sellers but I love them, so easy and gorgeous. This shade is stunning, the photo doesn't do it justice but it's a purple shade with all sorts of different shades of glitter in, really unusual and unlike anything in my collection. You can apply this with a brush or a finger tip and build the colour up to whatever finish you desire. The whole product in general feels luxurious and it's a lovely product to treat yourself too. They can also be applied over other shadows to create a different finish/look, which makes them different to any other cream products I've tried.

My Mac Lipstick Collection...

Over the last year I've really been loving Mac lipsticks, I know that there are other brands in the world but they're great in every single way...
I love reading and seeing videos about Mac collections so I thought I'd share mine.

Creme Cup - This is such a popular shade among mac lovers, but unfortunately this does not suit me. It's a really pretty pale pink nude shade but it's too pale for me, I've only ever tried it on and every time I've applied it, I've just not liked it and taken it off straight away. Sorry to start on a negative but this looks gorgeous on paler girls.

Patisserie - This is my perfect nude shade, it's more of a peachy nude shade, my lips but better colour. It's the shade I go for when I've done a heavy smokey eye and need something pretty and subtle. I know a lot of people also love this so definitely needed in any Mac collection.

Peach Blossom - This is such a lovely summer nude, Patisserie would be my winter nude and Peach Blossom my summer. It's much mess brown than Patisserie and as the name suggests, a very peach toned nude.

Coral Bliss - This is exactly as the name describes. It's applies quite sheer so just gives a hint of coral. It's really pretty with a lip gloss over the top. It was brought out in the Cremesheen and Pearl collection along with Patisserie, all of the shades from this collection are really pretty.

Up The Amp - This is quite an unusual shade and one I'm not normally drawn to but this is quite wearable. It's a pink with a cold purple undertone. At first I thought it made me look like I had dead lips but I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Flat Out Fabulous - This is a matte bright pink with blue undertones. It makes teeth look whiter and really stands out. This is perfect, if you've gone for a more masculine look but want a girly twist.

All Fired Up - I feel like this is the red version of Flat Out Fabulous. It's also matte but it's a muted red orange shade. If you don't want to go for a bright, in your face, red then go for this. I think would look amazing on pale girls who are intimidated by a brighter red.

Rebel - This is one of the first shades I picked up I think. It's different to anything I'd ever seen before. It's a pinky plum shade, it's great because you can layer it up for an intense plum shade or just apply a thin layer with a balm over the top for a sheer wash of pink colour.

Mac R.E.D - This is what started off my Mac lipstick love. I thought that it's a really classic shade and the lady in Mac matched me to this red over the others and I actually agree with her. It's not a super popular shade like the other reds that they do and I don't know why to be honest because it's a beaut.

Russian Red - This is just a classic red shade, that I'm pretty sure every Mac lover owns. It's a matte finish which differs it from R.E.D, and it's slightly deeper.

Diva - This is definitely my most used shade that I own, I just love it. It's a deep red, almost plum but it does not budge. It's such a striking matte lipstick that does not end up all over your face or dry your lips out at all. I always feel like a Diva when I have this on.

Cyber - This is the most striking colour I've ever seen, it looks almost black but it's a really deep dark purple. If you want to go for a look that no one else will be rocking this go for this beauty. I think you've got to have some balls to wear this but it looks stunning. It can end up washing you out a little bit but I just apply slightly more bronzer to combat that. Also, a lip liner is a must have for this.

I'd love to hear what shades you love and think I need!

Plum Pals...

Sometimes you need a luxurious lip combination with screams attitude and makes you feel powerful. This is definitely that combo for me, it's a fairly recent discovery and I'm in love. Before this, I'd only ever tried cheapo lip liners but this one blew me a way. As I've gotten older I've realised that a lip liner is essential. It just makes lipstick application easier and better overall, in terms of longevity and definition it's perfect. This is a Mac lip liner in Currant and it's fab, you need this if you're a lipstick junkie like me and I couldn't imagine my life without it anymore (haha, definition of lipstick junkie). On top of that the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick in Prune Virgin is incredible. It's just a really striking gorgeous pair and I always get a tonne of compliments on it, and due to the matteness you don't need to worry about it going anywhere. An expensive but stunning pair.

What I Learnt About Make Up In 2014 ...

Take it easy with the bronzer - Bronzer should give you a subtle sunkissed look, not an orange mask! Looking at past photos makes me cringe so back, I used to apply so much bronzer that I looked muddy and orange but thought it looked good! Bronzer should be mostly applied on the places where the sun would naturally catch you for a tanned look. Obviously there are other ways of applying bronzer like contouring and that.

Less is more - With make up genral, less is more. Subtle application looks a thousand times better than caking it on. I think when you're putting your make up on it's easy to over apply. If you're guilty of this, like me, go into your bathroom, turn on the light (which is normally like daylight and a lot brighter) and see how it looks, if you're still happy with it, perfect.

Nude eye liner is your friend - I am forever tired, which means my eyes are forever bloodshot. A brilliant way to counteract tiredness and small eyes is nude eye liner. I use to think nude liner was just for mature women but I can't get enough of it now.

Change it up - The best thing about make up is changing your look up and experimenting. Why keep the same look forever? If your attitude changes then why shouldn't your make up? This year I've really been enjoying experimenting and trying out new things, even if I don't think it'll suit me. You never know until you try it out. I've been getting into purples because they are great on brown eyes.

You don't need full coverage all the time - If my skin is good then why do I need a full coverage foundation. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation has definitely proven this to me. It's a much more natural finish and makes skin look healthy but perfected.

Duo Eyelash Dark Tone Adhesive - Review...

So seeing as I wear false eyelashes everyday I thought it was about time I gave into the hype. I chose the dark tone version because I wear liquid liner everyday so it's perfect for that. I was expecting to be wowed by this, I've heard so many rave reviews about this, saying that they'd never use anything else, blah blah blah, but to me it's just a lash adhesive. I've tried the eylure version and it's pretty much exactly the same. They're both great, I'm not saying that but it's nothing new. I do really like the dark tone, it means that I don't have to go back over the lash band with eye liner to hide the glue. However, what I don't like about this lash glue is the application. I think it would be much easier to have a little brush applicator rather than a squeezy tube. The squeezy tube makes it really easy to apply too much which can make everything look clumpy and uneven. It's difficult to say whether I'd repurchase this or not, I like the dark tone feature rather than drying clear, but the applicator is annoying but maybe it's one of those things I need to get use to.

Gorgeous Treats...

Unfortunately, the festive season is coming to an end. But that means sales! So I thought it was about time I shared what I have recently, bought and been gifted in terms of beauty. These are mostly things I've had on my wishlist for a long time and finally treated myself to, then there's a few pieces with my loved ones have gifted me.
I'm planning on reviewing all this products in the future or at least featuring them in some sort of post. I've got high hopes for all of these products, there are some really great ones in there that other bloggers love, so I'm excited to try these all out.

First of all, it wouldn't be Christmas without a cheeky Mac order. 'Merry Christmas Jess, To Me, From Me'. Cheers Jess. I picked have an essential for any dark lip lover and that is Currant Lip Liner. I did a tonne of research into what dark lip pencil I needed from Mac and Currant came out on top. It's the first lip liner I've tried from Mac too so I'm looking forward to trying it. I also picked up two shadows in Bronze, which is such a me colour and Deep Damson which is a stunning purple. I'm really looking forward to experimenting with Deep Damson, it's such a fun shade. Recently, I watched a stunning tutorial from NikkieTutorials featuring a glitter liner look. Absolutely stunning for New Years. So I picked up the Mixing Medium Liner Version to try out. Such a fun product, hopefully it looks as good on me. I then also added a empty quad because all mine are full, and I love keeping everything organised!
I then was very generously gifted from my Dad the Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Make Up Bag, I'm so in love with this. It's a plum shade covered in gold lips on one side and then the quote ' With the right make up, a girl can conquer the world' which is so appropriate for me. It's just gorgeous. It's also plastic coated which makes it wipeable! To go with that I treated myself to the lipstick in Glastonberry, a lovely berry shade, perfect to go with Currant liner. The packaging is just to truly die for, if you're going to treat yourself to a high end lipstick, I'd really recommend getting one of these. It really does feel expensive and the rose gold metal packaging is stunning.
I'm one of those people which for some reason just doesn't buy expensive perfume for themselves, until I released I was missing that void in my life. Earlier in the year I bought myself an DKNY perfume which was lovely but at Christmas I asked for some perfume from a few family members and I was a lucky girl because I received three different bottles of perfume! I was chuffed and all three are really lovely but different to each other. I received YSL's Black Opium which is such a stunning sexy fragrance, it's a definitely a special occasion scent. Then I received the DKNY Red Delicious which is an everyday scent, quite light and fruity. Gorgeous and girly without being floral. Then finally I was gifted the Vera Wang LoveStruck which is the slightly more floral and pretty smelling. The bottle is just stunning as is the Black Opium bottle.
From my Mum I was very kindly gifted some Calvin Klein make up, I haven't tried any of their products before so I'm looking forward to trying that out, really pretty colours and right up my ally! She also makes her own crackers, she has always done and she always picks amazing gifts it go in them. In mine she chose me the really icon red from Dior. She wanted the famous one from Chanel but our local Debanhams doesn't stock Chanel so she got the Dior one which is just as gorgeous if not more! Then finally one of my lovely work mates gifted me with a gorgeous pink lipstick from Bourjois. I'm not tried any of the shades from this range but so far I'm really enjoying it. It's such a fun, bright colour.

But before Christmas Day (Christmas Eve infact) I treated myself to a few new things because it was pay day! I've had my eye on this Dior Fusion Mono Eye Shadow in Hypnotique 881 ever since I laid my eyes on it. It's such a beautiful unusual shade, it's kind of browny purplely silver. It looks amazing on. Then I also picked up a few essentials including my everyday eye lashes and some eye lash glue. I picked up the Duo Dark Glue because I've heard so much amazing stuff about it and thought I'd give into the hype.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil - Review...

So these are part of the latest lip craze. Maybelline are brilliant at whacking out brilliant lip launches that are different but still amazing. I think they're one of the best brands at the 'drugstore' and I have a lot of respect for them. This is apparently a perfect dupe for the Nars lip pencil things, which unfortunately I've never had the pleasure to try but I do think this lip pencil is great. I'm not going to lie but even with all the surrounding hype that surround these I didn't really hold much hope out for them. But I've been pleasantly surprised and I like that. They apply really smoothly, without having a waxy texture, they go on quite glossy but set into place matte. The lasting power is surprising good, I've worn this to work before and not had to worry about it fading or moving. The pencil tip makes application really easy to get a precise application around the edges. The only negative point to this product is the fact you have to sharpen it, and unfortunately I do not have the correct size sharpener. So I've gotten to the point where I can't use it anymore without sharpening it first which is annoying and definitely puts me off buying anymore.

I like this product, but the shade range isn't great. I feel like I already have all the shades in lipstick form so don't really want to waste my money on another one.

Have you tried it? What do you think?

What's On My Face #5 - New Years Edition ...

I was so happy with my make up on New Years, everything just seemed to go perfectly and I'll be definitely going for this look again for my next night out.
I started with the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer which is a really nice feeling primer and makes any foundation look amazing. Over the top of that I used the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation which is a perfect foundation for oily skin girl like myself. I never have to worry about looking too shiney throughout the night. Although it is definitely a night out foundation, it's very thick and quite heavy, in my opinion, too heavy for daily wear. Then general concealing with the Collection Lasting Perfect Concealer and powdering with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. On the eyes I used my new Mac Bronze shadow over the top of my beloved Mac Constructionist Paint Pot. Then I blended Nars Mekong through my crease and lower lash line, and pressed the glitter shadow from the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette for that extra NYE sparkle. I then smoked it out even more with a YSL gel khol liner and Collection liquid liner with a strong wing. Threw on some incredible lashes, the Eylure 125 to be exact for extra wow factor. I was really happy with how that looked without a strong lip colour but for NYE I wanted to go for something a little more intense. So I used the Mac Currant Lip Liner and then applied the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick in Prune Virgin 205 which is just a stunning colour and I adored away it looked. I then finished off with a strong brow courtesy of the Sleek Brow Stylist and the Maybelline Brow Drama setting brow gel, and finally bronzed with my usual Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I stayed away from blusher and highlighter because I think sometimes, especially in club lighting, it can look rough in photos so I avoided that.
I was so happy with the way it turned out so I thought I'd share it with you, I want to wear it at every opportunity but I'm controlling myself. It's just such a killer team.
