Expensive Beauty Haul ...

So I caved, I went on a beauty spree. I've had these items in my Mac shopping basket for months and I just couldn't resist any longer. I have never tried any of Mac's glosses before and since I have recently regained my gloss love I thought it was about time. I picked up the Cremesheen Gloss in Floating Lotus which is just stunning. I saw Hannah Janes wearing it in a video ages ago and just recently caved. I have been on the hunt for the perfect lipstick to go under Floating Lotus since I first fell for it but didn't know what to get. I wanted something that was a sheer wash of colour and recently decided that Coral Bliss was exactly what I wanted. I was then browsing the best sellers list and I didn't really understand why I didn't already own Russian Red. It's exactly my type of lipstick colour and the hype surrounding this product makes it a must have. I'm sure you already know, but it's a deep red matte shade, it's a beautiful colour that I think would suit almost every skin tone, hence why it's such a popular shade.
I was out with my friend recently and she had the most unusual lovely shade on her lids, she knew the name was Uninterrupted but she didn't know what type it was because it was in a bigger pan than the normal eye shadows. I first thought it was a pressed pigment but when doing some research (i.e just typing the name into Mac search and it coming up) I found out that it was actually infact a Pro Longwear Eye Shadow. I have never tried any of these before and thought I should for blogging purposes (excuses, excuses). Anyway, along with Uninterrupted I chose Make Your Mark which is a really pretty deep brown with a pretty sheen. I thought these would be a perfect pair, and individually look beautiful all over the lid.
Finally, the creme dela creme of beauty products. Charlotte Tilbury. I have been in love with this palette for ages and ages, and I finally plucked up the courage to pick it up. It comes with a hefty price tag, but what the hell. It's a super luxury product and every so often a girl needs to treat herself. I'm not going into too much detail with any of these product because there will be reviews heading your way soon, so keep your peepers open for that.

Haul and Lookbook ...

New Look via Asos Dress - £20
Burgundy Converse
H&M Necklace - Old
Asos Leather Travel Purse - £12 (sale)

It get to this time of year and I just have a real craving for houndstooth print. I think this time of year is the perfect time to starting experimenting with prints and getting into the mood for Autumn. I picked this T-shirt style dress from New Look via Asos and fell in love. I love the slightly formal look it gives and it can really be dressed up or down. I've paired it with some burgundy grubby converse (essential in anyone's wardrobe), to give that 'I just threw this on' kinda edge. Then a chunky gold necklace and new Asos leather travel purse which can be used as a clutch to dress it up a little bit.

New Look Dress - £20
All Black Converse
Topshop Fedora - £25

I'm really loving t shirt dresses as you may be able to tell and I fell in love with this print. It's still super summery but incorporates a few Autumn shades in there so it can be worn with thick tights in those colder months. I've paired it with black accessories to bring out the black in the dress. I've chosen all black converse because I think they look a little more polished and paired with this fedora create a little more edge without being too much on an already busy dress.

 H&M Necklace - Old
Asos Dress - £12 (sale)
All Black Converse

I've been looking for a dress like this more ages. I've seen the lovely Lily Pebbles wear one similar with a bold red lip and she looks amazing. This one is from Asos and actually in the Maternity section so I wasn't sure whether I'd be keeping it to begin with. However, it's really not baggy around the middle or anything it's just super stretchy. I bought this in a size down to a accommodate for the extra stretch. I've thrown a bright coral necklace on with this so it's doesn't look so nautical, I think coral is a nice change from classically pairing red with it. Then I've also just thrown my all black converse with it because I didn't know what to do ha!

Dress from Tesco - £20
New Look Heels - £10 (sale)

I'm normally not really a dressy dress kinda girl, but I thought this was stunning and it's only from Tesco! It looks like it's covered in polka dots but it's actually covered in little hearts which makes it even more adorable. It's a super flattering shape and really comfy, the top it actually layered over the black fitted top, which I think is a really lovely alternative. Here I've just worn it with black a white strappy heels. I love the whole 1960's feel this dress has which I've been really loving recently.

Mac Diva Lipstick...

Every women needs a lipstick that gives her that Beyonce attitude. This is one of the reasons I love lipstick. I love that feeling it gives you, like you can conquer the world. This is my secret weapon, which is perfectly named Diva. This is a deep matte plum red, makes teeth look super white, and is super duper eye catching. It's not drying, but it is one of those lipstick which is quite stiff and a littler bit firmer to apply but that's just due to the matte formula. It lasts a really long time on the lips, through eating and drinking which makes it a perfect girls night lipstick. Every lipstick lover needs this one in their collection.

The Repurchases...

Going through my stash of beauty products recently really made me realise that no matter how many new products I buy, I just cannot be without a few things. These are always on my shopping list. I've raved about these products so many times before so I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet.

Nars Laguna Bronzer £27 - I'm sure you've all heard about this product. The beauty community's most loved bronzer. Not orange, perfect sunkissed bronzer.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder £3.99 - Long lasting, non caking, oil controlling,  translucent powder. Essential.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude Eyeliner £3.99 - Cheap and easy nude coloured eye liner. Great for making tired eyes more awake on those early mornings.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara £13 - Nothing compares to this. Doesn't smudge or flake. Tiny brush makes it so easy to grab those tiny bottom lashes without ending up with it all over your face!
Urban Decay Primer Potion £14.40 - A must have in my eye shadow routine. Gives something for eye shadow to cling to which results in less creasing and more intensity.
Sleek Brow Stylist in Medium £5.99 - The angled tip makes a great brow arch, if you struggle with brows get this! Brush one end, pencil the other, perfect traveling pencil.
Maybelline Brow Drama £4.99 - Weirdest brush but great for grabbing eye brow hairs. Keeps eye brows in control with a little hint of colour.
Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation in Nude £7.99 - In love with this foundation. Perfect every day medium coverage without feeling heavy or smothering. Great for oily skinned girls because it doesn't melt away throughout the day.
Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara £10.99 - Keeps a curl, really lengthening without ending up clumpy. The only dislike with this mascara is the brush, it can end up being really messy.
Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes in Amble Amber £17 - Such a pretty colour for a wash of colour over the lid. The packaging make it easy to apply to the lid and it blends out beautifully. Great base for other eye shadows too.
Mac Patisserie Lipstick £15.50 - The most perfect nude. Peachy pink, great for girls that can't get away with pale nude like myself. So easy to apply on the go.
L'oreal Super Lacquer Liner £6.49 - I love the applicator, it makes applying eye liner really easy. You can lay the tip on your lashes and just slowly pull it along for a really easy simple liner look. It's a lacquer liner which means it has a glossy finish. But if I want a matte liner look I just apply a cheap liner over the top so I still keep the longevity.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + £15 - Holy grail skincare product. I use this everyday and it keeps spots at bay and really calms them down if they have already crept up. Unblocks pores and controls extra oils.

The Lip Product Tag ...

I have seen that a lot of youtubers do this tag and I thought it would be fun to do it as a post instead and I LOVE lip products.
Anyway onto the questions...
Favourite Balm or Treatment? I've really been loving the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula recently, it's the one I got for when I need a quick boost of moisture, something that I know is just going to be absorbed quickly with a really yummy scent. I also really like the Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips, for a deep intense treatment.
Favourite Eye Catching Red? I recently purchased the Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Ruby and it really is the most perfect eye catching red. It's a super bright pinky red suitable for all year round. I love the glossy look it has too for extra wow.
Favourite Pink? It's not a secret how much I love the Bourjois rouge velvets. I've chosen the shade Ole Flamingo, which I think is a perfect date pink. It stays out throughout everything which means it's get for eating or snogging (if the date goes well).
Favourite Nude? Definitely Mac Patisserie, it's the perfect nude for me. I often find it difficult to find a nice nude because they can be a little too pale but this is stunning.
Favourite Luxury Lipstick? I have picked the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats in Prune Virgin. This is such a rock chick colour, it's incredible. The heavy gold metal packaging makes it feel super luxurious and glamorous.
Favourite Mac Lipstick? I have a tonne of Mac lipsticks but I thought I'd go for my current favourite, rather than all time favourite. It's definitely got to be Cyber at the moment. It's a really dark purple, I think it's unusual because dark lipstick shade normally have a red undertone but this is more cooler. There's nothing else like it.
Favourite Lip Gloss? I have chosen two which I got to all the timeand they are both affordable. First is the Soap & Glory Extreme Plump, which is a lip plumping lipgloss but it's the shade I love. It looks great over lipstick or on it's own. The next one is the Maybelline Coloursensational Shine Gloss in Cashmere Rose. It's a perfect peachy shade which I think would be super flattering on so many different skin tones and shades. Both of these glosses aren't overly sticky, they have a lovely amount of pigmentation.
Favourite Spring/Summer shade? I have chosen Rimmel's In Love With Ginger for this, it's the most perfect bright orange, verging on neon. I personally haven't tried Mac's Morange but I've heard this is a dupe for it.
Favourite Autumn/Winter Shade? This is a newbie in my collection but I have chosen Mac's Diva, I wear this when I'm feeling fiesty and that I've got that diva attitude. It's perfect for Autumn/Winter especially because it's a matte finish. It makes your teeth look super white too.
Finally Lip Liner? Definitely. I think it definitely improves the longevity of the lipstick, and I love that really precise lip that it gives you.

The Perfect Pair ...

It's not a secret that I love Mac lipsticks. I have a tonne of them and I've really been experimenting with them recently. I had completely forgotten I'd gotten this shade in Peach Blossom, it's (as the name states) a peachy shade but with a really pretty pink hint to. Itf you're a fan of Patisserie, you'll be a fan of this too. I'm not going to lie, I haven't really used much from my You Beauty Advent Calender I got last year, I have forgotten about most of this. But recently when looking through all of my lip products I found this beaut. I haven't tried anything from Stila before so I was quite excited when I received this. This is slightly lighter than Peach Blossom but they make such a pretty pair. The lip gloss is really shimmery which makes lips look fuller and it really catches the sun and looks amazing. I'm sorry that this photo doesn't really show the colour as amazing as it is, I would of taken another one but I've bloody left them at a friends so this will have to do!

Floral Gingham...

Topshop Black Chain - Old

I haven't got much time today so I thought I'd just throw in a quick OOTD. I'v got a busy day running errands and visiting people so I fancied something stylist but still comfortable. This dress is from missguided and it made from scuba material which is thick and quite flattering. I fell in love with this gingham and floral print and it was in the sale for only £8.99. I know most highstreet shops are now going into Autumn fashion (my favourite fashion) but I thought this could be made more winter appropriate with thick tights, boots and a leather jacket, which is what I'm doing today. I've paired this dress with some new Missguided boots too, I love a heeled boot and the straps and zip details really rock up an outfit. They are really comfy but if you're going to be walking miles and miles I'd go for something a little flatter. These don't look too high but when your foot is in them, they are at quite an angle. However, that depends on how well you get on with heels and whether you're use to wearing them a lot like my tootsies are! Then finally I've thrown on a back thick chain and a black Fedora hat both from Topshop to mask my bad hair day.

Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara - Review ...

Can I just start by saying how crappy I think the name is? Come on Maybelline, you could of come up with something a little more creative, anyway that doesn't affect the product. This is a double ended mascara which has upper lashes one end and lower lashes the other, pretty unique, haven't seen anything from the drugstore like this one. Overall I think this is a great mascara, the formula is really lovely, it holds a curl and is definitely smudgeproof on both sets of lashes. Both of the brushes are really great too. The top lash brush is nice a big with a slight twist to it which makes it perfect to really get to the root of the lash and build up to the tip. The slight tapered tip also makes it brilliant to get the tiny inside lashes. The bottom lash brush is also amazing, it coats them with just enough product but doesn't drown them. The only negative point I can make with this product is that I think you barely get enough product for the amount of money your paying, in fact I think it's a bit of a rip off. There is so much packaging with barely any product which means it runs out quickly. I think there are more money friendly mascaras out there with equally as good brushes and formulas. This mascara cannot replace my love for the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara and Max Factor Mascaras so I will unfortunately not be repurchasing this. I think the Maybelline False Lash mascara is actually better so I would recommend that one instead.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Ruby - Review...

I've had my eye on this product for ages and once I saw that Asos stocked it and had free delivery I couldn't resist and I've finally popped my Too Faced cherry! To start with, I really like the packaging. It's really colourful and easy to throw in your handbag. The applicator, it like a doe foot with a fuzzy tip which doesn't make it the easiest to apply but just means a little more patience. The product itself is fab. The formula is really long lasting and fades very evenly through eating and drinking. It stays glossy but sets in place so it doesn't end up all over your face. You can apply it really lightly and push it into the lips to create a really pretty satin look or build it up and it doesn't become patchy, flakey or cakey. It becomes a really opaque pink toned red which I think is the tone of red that suits the most people universally.
Over all I think this is a really fun product. There are many different version of this like the Rimmel Apocolips but in my opinion this is one of the best formulas. I will be buying more of these, I've got my eye on a really pretty violet colour.
It has the prettiness of a gloss but the longevity of a lipstick.

Max Factor Elixir Gloss in Polished Fuschia - Review...

I was really underwhelmed by this product. This advert with Candice Swanepoel (below) displaying this new Colour Elixir Gloss looked amazing. This picture made it look like such an incredible intense colour but it's such a let down. In the container it looks really pigmented but once you apply it the colour pay off is just really crap. Over all, the gloss itself is really pleasant. It's not overly sticky and the smell is a really lovely vanilla scent. If i hadn't seen this advert maybe I would of like it more but who knows. I feel like it's just a bit of a waste of money, it's not what I was expecting when I bought it and I wouldn't recommend.
If you're looking for a gloss/stain finish then I would recommend checking out the new Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Satins for a great long lasting colour pay off.

Sorry for the recent absence, I've been having issues with my laptop but hopefully I've gotten them sorted at the moment. Back on track for now on!
