MAC Red lipstick - Review

Finally lost my Mac lipstick virginity with Rebel and now I'm addicted, I was given a Mac gift card from the boyf for my birthday so I thought I'd treat myself to a classic red lipstick.

 MAC Red lipstick - £15

 As you probably all know there are so many raved about reds from Mac and it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make but I decided to go for this one because I liked that it was more of a pinky red. This is a lot less popular that cult favourites Russian Red and Ruby Woo and I haven't really heard very much about it but I personally love it. 

This is a Satin finish which means it's still really pigmented but very creamy. It's not overly glossy but not matte either, it's a really nice balance between the two. I personally haven't tried any of the other finishes so I can't compare them but I will definitely be trying more. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try a red from Mac, it lasts relatively well and fades evenly but it doesn't last really well through eating and drinking but a lip liner definitely makes a difference. 

I really like applying this with different coloured lip liners underneath to change the colour of the lipstick, my favourite at the moment is applying a darker burgundy lip liner then this lipstick over the top and it adds a really nice twist. 

This is definitely an all year red, it's bright enough for summer but then with a dark lip liner also perfect for winter, I've been picking this out constantly at the moment. 

 

Unfortunately, I took this lipstick out with me on Saturday night and now I can't find it! I'm really really hoping I haven't lost it! So please can we give this moment to wish that it will find it's way back to me and I promise to look after it better!
